Geography of the Central African Republic

The Central African Republic (CAR) is a landlocked country located in the heart of Africa. It is bordered by Chad to the north, Sudan to the northeast, South Sudan to the east, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo to the south, and Cameroon to the west. The country covers a total area of approximately 622,984 square kilometers.

Topography

The topography of the Central African Republic is characterized by a vast, flat to rolling plateau, with an average elevation of about 500 meters above sea level. The highest point in the country is Mont Ngaoui, which reaches an elevation of 1,420 meters. The country is divided into several distinct geographical regions:

Climate
