Trospium Chloride

Trospium Chloride (pronunciation: troh-SPY-um KLOR-ide) is a type of antimuscarinic medication used primarily for the treatment of overactive bladder.

Etymology

The name "Trospium" is derived from the Greek word "tropos", meaning "turn", and the Latin word "spium", meaning "spike". The "chloride" part of the name refers to the chloride ion that is part of the chemical structure of the drug.

Usage

Trospium Chloride is used to treat symptoms of an overactive bladder, such as frequent or urgent urination, and incontinence (urine leakage). It works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder.
