Southeast Europe

Southeast Europe or Southeastern Europe (SEE) is a geographical region of Europe, consisting primarily of the Balkan Peninsula. Countries that are geographically or historically associated with the peninsula are collectively known as the Balkans.

Geography

Southeast Europe is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Adriatic Sea to the west, and the Black Sea to the east. The region is characterized by its mountainous terrain, with the Dinaric Alps, Carpathian Mountains, and the Rhodope Mountains being the most significant ranges.
