Faygo is a brand of soft drinks that was founded in Detroit, Michigan, in 1907. The company was originally named the Feigenson Brothers Bottling Works, after its founders, Ben and Perry Feigenson, who were Russian-Jewish immigrants. Faygo is known for its wide variety of flavors and its strong regional popularity in the Midwestern United States.

History

The Feigenson brothers, who were originally bakers, started the company by using their baking skills to create unique flavors for their sodas. They initially delivered their products using a horse-drawn wagon. The company was renamed Faygo in the 1920s, a shortened version of the Feigenson name.

In the 1950s, Faygo expanded its distribution beyond the Detroit area. The company was purchased by the National Beverage Corporation in 1987, which helped to further expand its market reach.
