Fatburger is an American fast food restaurant chain. Its tagline is The Last Great Hamburger Stand. While it is a fast food restaurant, the food is cooked and made to order. Some Fatburger restaurants have a liquor license, as well as buffet service.

History

Lovie Yancey established the Fatburger restaurant in 1947, in the city of Los Angeles, California, United States. It was originally named "Mr. Fatburger", until the "Mr." was dropped in 1952. The business was started as a small hamburger stand and has since grown into a franchise with over 200 locations worldwide.

Menu

Fatburger's menu primarily consists of hamburgers, in which it is most famous for. The chain also offers chicken, turkey and veggie burgers, as well as French fries, milkshakes and soft drinks. The burgers can be customized with a variety of toppings, including lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, relish, cheese, bacon and chili.

Locations

Fatburger operates in 19 different countries. The company's first overseas location was in Canada in the late 1980s. It has since expanded to countries such as China, Pakistan, United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates.

In popular culture

Fatburger has been mentioned in popular culture numerous times, including in episodes of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm and NBC's The Apprentice. It has also been mentioned in songs by notable hip-hop artists such as Ice Cube, The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.
