Faith healing
Faith Healing
Faith healing (/feɪθ 'hiːlɪŋ/) is a form of alternative medicine where belief and trust in religious faith is used to supposedly cure illnesses or disabilities.
Etymology
The term "faith healing" comes from the English words "faith", meaning complete trust or confidence, and "healing", meaning the process of making or becoming sound or healthy again.
Definition
Faith healing is a method of healing in which a believer seeks divine intervention through prayer to restore health. This can be done either through individual prayer or by a group of people, often a congregation, who pray together for the healing of another. The person who is ill may also be involved in the prayer.

Criticism and Controversy
Faith healing has been criticized on the grounds that those who use it may delay seeking potentially curative conventional medical care. This is particularly problematic when parents use faith healing techniques on children.
