Chubb Limited was formed in 2016 as a result of the acquisition of the Chubb Corporation by ACE Limited. ACE Limited, a Swiss-based insurance company, was founded in 1985. The Chubb Corporation, an American insurance company, was founded in 1882. The combined company adopted the Chubb name and is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland.

Chubb Limited operates in 54 countries and territories worldwide, providing a broad range of insurance products to a diverse group of clients. The company operates through several business segments, including North America Commercial and Personal P&C Insurance, Europe, Asia, and Latin America P&C Insurance, Global Reinsurance, and Life Insurance.
