Aam panna
Aam Panna is a traditional Indian beverage, renowned for its heat-resistant properties. It is made from raw mangoes, sugar, and an assortment of spices. The drink is primarily consumed in the Indian subcontinent during the summer months, as it is believed to guard against extreme heat, and prevent loss of sodium chloride and iron during sweating. It is also considered beneficial in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.
Preparation[edit]
The preparation of Aam Panna involves boiling raw mangoes in water, after which they are allowed to cool. The pulp is then extracted from the mangoes and mixed with cumin, mint, jaggery or sugar, and a pinch of salt. The mixture is then strained and served chilled. Some variations of the recipe may include additional ingredients such as black pepper and cardamom.
Nutritional Value[edit]
Aam Panna is rich in vitamin C and vitamin B, which help to provide resistance against diseases, promote digestion, and improve the health of our skin and hair. It also contains a good amount of iron, which helps to maintain the red blood cell count in the body.
Cultural Significance[edit]
In India, Aam Panna is often associated with the festival of Ugadi, which marks the beginning of the New Year in the Hindu calendar. It is also a popular choice for breaking the fast during Ramadan in the Indian subcontinent.
Health Benefits[edit]
Aam Panna is known for its cooling effects on the body, making it a popular drink during the summer months. It is also believed to prevent heat stroke. The drink is rich in pectin, which helps to treat gastrointestinal disorders. Furthermore, it is an effective remedy for diarrhea, dysentery, and indigestion.
