4-HO-DSBT
4-HO-DSBT
4-HO-DSBT (pronounced: four-H-O-D-S-B-T), also known as 4-Hydroxy-N,N-dibutyltryptamine, is a lesser-known psychedelic compound. It is a structural analog of psilocin, a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in certain species of mushrooms.
Etymology
The name 4-HO-DSBT is an abbreviation for its chemical structure, 4-Hydroxy-N,N-dibutyltryptamine. The "4-HO" refers to the hydroxy group attached at the 4th position of the indole ring, and "DSBT" stands for "DiSecButylTryptamine", indicating the two sec-butyl groups attached to the nitrogen atom of the tryptamine backbone.
Pharmacology
4-HO-DSBT is a serotonin receptor agonist, similar to other psychedelic tryptamines. It is believed to exert its effects primarily through the 5-HT2A receptor, although the exact mechanism of action is not fully understood.
