Wolfgang Mückstein (born 5 July 1974) is an Austrian physician and politician. He served as the Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection in the Second Kurz government and the Schallenberg government from 19 April 2021 to 8 March 2022.

Early Life and Education

Wolfgang Mückstein was born on 5 July 1974 in Vienna, Austria. He studied medicine at the University of Vienna, where he earned his medical degree. Mückstein later specialized in general medicine and became a practicing physician.

Medical Career

Mückstein worked as a general practitioner in Vienna. He was known for his commitment to patient care and his advocacy for public health issues. He also co-founded a medical center in Vienna, which focused on providing comprehensive healthcare services.

Political Career

Mückstein entered politics as a member of the Green Party. On 19 April 2021, he was appointed as the Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection in the Second Kurz government, succeeding Rudolf Anschober. His tenure continued under the Schallenberg government.
