Solar power (pronunciation: /ˈsoʊlər ˈpaʊər/) is the conversion of energy from sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), indirectly using concentrated solar power, or a combination.
Etymology
The term "solar power" is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and power from the Old French pouvoir (to be able).
