Past Life Regression (pronunciation: /pɑːst laɪf rɪˈɡrɛʃən/) is a technique that uses hypnosis to recover what practitioners believe are memories of past lives or incarnations.

Etymology

The term "Past Life Regression" is derived from the English words "past" (meaning gone by in time and no longer existing), "life" (the condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic matter, including the capacity for growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change preceding death), and "regression" (a return to a former or less developed state). It is a term used in psychotherapy and is part of the broader field of regression therapy.
