Oceania

Oceania (pronounced: /ˌoʊʃiˈɑːniə, ˌoʊsi-/), also known as Oceanica, is a region centered on the islands of the tropical Pacific Ocean.

Etymology

The term "Oceania" is derived from the Latin word "Oceanus", meaning "ocean", and was coined in the 19th century as a collective name for the lands of the Pacific Ocean.
