However, its adoption rate has been somewhat overshadowed by other more commonly used fluoroquinolones, such as ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin. As of current medical directives, Gemifloxacin is prescribed for conditions like acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia.

Gemifloxacin is commercially available under the brand name 'Factive' and is dispensed in 320 mg tablet form. The recommended dosage for patients is 320 mg, administered once daily, spanning 5 to 7 days.
