Ethyltestosterone
Ethyltestosterone
Ethyltestosterone (pronunciation: eh-thil-tes-tos-ter-own) is a synthetic androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) medication which was never marketed. It is the C17α ethyl ester of testosterone.
Etymology
The term "Ethyltestosterone" is derived from the words "ethyl", a two-carbon substituent, and "testosterone", the primary male sex hormone.
Pharmacology
As an androgen and anabolic steroid, Ethyltestosterone has similar effects to natural testosterone. It promotes the growth of muscles and the development of male sexual characteristics. However, as a synthetic derivative, it has been modified to enhance its anabolic properties and reduce its androgenic effects.
