David B. Samadi
David B. Samadi (born March 1, 1964) is an American urologist and surgeon known for his expertise in robotic surgery and the treatment of prostate cancer. He is a board-certified urologist and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Early Life and Education[edit]
David B. Samadi was born in Iran and immigrated to the United States at a young age. He completed his undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University, where he earned a degree in biochemistry. He then attended the SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, where he received his MD degree.
Medical Career[edit]
Dr. Samadi completed his postgraduate training in urology at Montefiore Medical Center and in oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He further specialized in laparoscopic surgery at Henri Mondor Hospital in France.
He is renowned for developing the SMART (Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique) for robotic prostate surgery, which has been used to treat thousands of patients with prostate cancer.
