Clinical Skills
Clinical Skills
Clinical Skills (pronunciation: /ˈklɪnɪkəl skɪlz/) are a set of abilities, techniques, and practices that healthcare professionals use to provide patient care. They encompass a wide range of practical and interpersonal skills that are essential for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients.
Etymology
The term "Clinical" is derived from the Greek word "klinikos", which means "bed". This refers to the practice of caring for patients who are bedridden. "Skills", on the other hand, comes from the Old Norse word "skil", which means "discernment" or "knowledge".
