Bohemia

Bohemia (pronunciation: /boʊˈhiːmiə/) is a historical region in central Europe, occupying the western two-thirds of the traditional Czech lands. It is located in the contemporary Czech Republic with its capital in Prague.

Etymology

The etymology of Bohemia derives from the Boii, a Celtic tribe who inhabited the area from around the 4th century BC. The Latin term Boiohaemum was first recorded by the Roman historian Tacitus, which means "home of the Boii".
