Bhojpuri language is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the northern-eastern part of India and the Terai region of Nepal. It is predominantly spoken in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh, western parts of Bihar, and in the northwestern part of Jharkhand in India. Bhojpuri is also spoken by significant populations in Mauritius, Fiji, Suriname, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and other parts of the Caribbean where Indian indentured laborers were brought for working on sugar plantations.
