Winery

Winery (/ˈwaɪnəri/), also known as a winehouse or a vinery, is a building or property that produces wine. Wineries might also be a business involved in the production of wine, such as a wine company.

Etymology

The term "winery" is derived from the word "wine" and the suffix "-ery" which denotes a place where a specific activity is carried out. The word "wine" comes from the Old English 'win', which is from the Proto-Germanic '*winam', an early borrowing from the Latin 'vinum'.
