Introduction
Tim Ho Wan is a renowned Dim Sum restaurant that originated in Hong Kong. It is often referred to as the "most affordable Michelin-starred restaurant in the world". The restaurant was founded by Mak Kwai Pui, a former chef at the three-Michelin-starred Lung King Heen, and Leung Fai Keung in 2009.
History
Tim Ho Wan was initially a 20-seater hole-in-the-wall eatery in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. Despite its humble beginnings, the restaurant earned a Michelin star within a year of its opening. The founders, Mak Kwai Pui and Leung Fai Keung, aimed to create high-quality dim sum at affordable prices. The restaurant's name translates to "Add Good Luck" in English.
Menu
The menu at Tim Ho Wan is known for its simplicity and quality. The restaurant's signature dishes include the Baked Bun with BBQ Pork, Steamed Egg Cake, Vermicelli Roll with Pig's Liver, and Pan Fried Carrot Cake. Expansion
