Testosterone caproate is an androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) and a testosterone ester. It is or has been marketed under a variety of brand names, including Andro Cyp, Deposterona, Depotest, Durandro, Duratest, and Testadiate, among others. It is provided in oil solution for intramuscular injection and is used therapeutically in medicine to treat hypogonadism and other conditions associated with androgen deficiency.

Pharmacology

As an androgen and anabolic steroid, testosterone caproate has similar effects to other testosterone esters such as testosterone cypionate and testosterone enanthate. It acts by promoting the growth and development of male sexual organs and secondary sexual characteristics. It can also aid in the prevention of osteoporosis in men.

Pharmacokinetics

Testosterone caproate is a prodrug of testosterone and is thought to provide a more steady release of testosterone due to the length of its ester chain. Once injected, it is slowly released into the bloodstream over a period of several days.

Side Effects
