SweeTarts

From WikiMD's Medical Encyclopedia

SweeTarts are a type of candy that was first introduced in 1963 by the Sunline, Inc. company. They are known for their sweet and tangy flavor, which is a combination of traditional candy sweetness and a tart fruit flavor. The name "SweeTarts" is a portmanteau of the words "sweet" and "tart".

History[edit]

The SweeTarts candy was first introduced in 1963 by the Sunline, Inc. company, which was based in St. Louis, Missouri. The candy was created as a response to the popularity of the company's Pixy Stix product, which was a powdered candy packaged in a paper tube. The company wanted to create a similar product that could be packaged in a more convenient form, and thus, SweeTarts were born.

Description[edit]

SweeTarts are small, round candies that are approximately 1.5 cm in diameter. They are typically sold in rolls, with each roll containing several different flavors. The original flavors were cherry, lemon, lime, orange, and grape, but over the years, many other flavors have been introduced. The candies are known for their sweet and tangy flavor, which is a combination of traditional candy sweetness and a tart fruit flavor.

Variations[edit]

Over the years, several variations of SweeTarts have been introduced. These include SweeTarts Chewy, which are a chewy version of the original candy, and SweeTarts Mini Chewy, which are a smaller, bite-sized version of the Chewy candies. There are also SweeTarts Gummies, which are gummy candies in the shape of the original SweeTarts, and SweeTarts Ropes, which are soft, chewy ropes filled with a sweet and tart filling.
