Styles Bridges

Henry Styles Bridges (July 9, 1898 – November 26, 1961) was an American politician who served as a United States Senator from New Hampshire. He was a member of the Republican Party.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Styles Bridges was born in West Pembroke, Maine. He attended University of Maine and later graduated from Dartmouth College.

Political Career[edit]

Bridges began his political career as the Governor of New Hampshire from 1935 to 1937. He was then elected to the United States Senate, where he served from 1937 until his death in 1961. During his tenure, he was known for his work on the Appropriations Committee and his influence in Republican politics.

Legacy[edit]

Bridges was a significant figure in mid-20th century American politics, known for his conservative stance and his role in shaping fiscal policy. He was involved in various legislative efforts and was a prominent voice in the Senate.

Personal Life[edit]

Bridges was married to Dolores Bridges, and they had two children. He passed away in East Concord, New Hampshire in 1961.
