Stenbolone

Stenbolone

Stenbolone is an anabolic steroid, a synthetic derivative of testosterone. It is often used in the bodybuilding community for its muscle-building properties. Stenbolone is also known as 2-methyl-1-testosterone or 2-methyl-dihydrotestosterone.

History[edit]

Stenbolone was first synthesized in the 1960s by Syntex, a pharmaceutical company. It was initially developed as a treatment for osteoporosis and muscle wasting diseases. However, it quickly gained popularity in the bodybuilding community due to its potent anabolic effects.

Pharmacology[edit]

Stenbolone is a dihydrotestosterone (DHT) derivative, meaning it is a modified form of DHT. It has a methyl group added at the second carbon position, which increases its anabolic strength and makes it more resistant to breakdown by the liver.

Stenbolone binds to the androgen receptor (AR), which is involved in the development and maintenance of masculine characteristics. It has a high affinity for the AR, which means it is more potent than testosterone in stimulating muscle growth.

Side Effects[edit]

Like all anabolic steroids, stenbolone has potential side effects. These can include acne, hair loss, prostate enlargement, and liver damage. It can also cause changes in mood, such as increased aggression and irritability.

Legal Status[edit]

In many countries, including the United States, stenbolone is classified as a controlled substance. This means it is illegal to possess or distribute without a prescription. In the bodybuilding community, it is often obtained illegally through the black market.
