Rotiboy

Rotiboy, also known as Mexican Bun, is a popular bakery product originating from Malaysia. The brand was established in April 1998 in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia. The name "Rotiboy" is derived from the word "roti" which means bread in Malay, and "boy" which is a casual term for a young man in English, thus the name can be translated as "Bread Boy".

History

The first Rotiboy shop was opened in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Malaysia in 1998. The founder, Mr. Hiro Tan, wanted to create a unique bakery product that would appeal to the local market. The result was the creation of the Rotiboy bun, a sweet bun with a coffee-flavored topping and a butter filling. The bun quickly gained popularity and the brand expanded to other parts of Malaysia and eventually to other countries.

Product

The signature product of Rotiboy is the Mexican Bun, a sweet bun with a coffee-flavored topping and a butter filling. The bun is baked fresh daily and is best consumed while it is still warm. The unique combination of the sweet bun and the coffee-flavored topping has made it a favorite among consumers. In addition to the Mexican Bun, Rotiboy also offers other bakery products such as the Buttermilk Bun and the Cheese Bun.

Expansion

Since its establishment, Rotiboy has expanded its operations to other countries. As of 2021, there are over 200 Rotiboy outlets in countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and China. The brand continues to grow and is looking to expand to other markets.
