Radiological Society of North America

Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) is a professional society of radiologists, medical physicists, and other medical professionals with more than 54,000 members from 136 countries across the globe. The society is based in the United States and it hosts the largest medical meeting in the world, the RSNA Annual Meeting, with around 55,000 attendees annually.

History

The Radiological Society of North America was established in 1915 by a group of radiologists who had attended the annual meeting of the American Roentgen Ray Society. The society was initially known as the Western Roentgen Society and was renamed to its current name in 1919.

Mission

The mission of the RSNA is to promote and develop the highest standards of radiology and related sciences through education and research. The society seeks to enhance patient care and improve public health through the advancement of radiologic science.

Activities

The RSNA conducts various activities to fulfill its mission. These include the publication of two highly respected peer-reviewed journals, Radiology and RadioGraphics, and the hosting of the annual RSNA meeting. The society also provides a wide range of educational resources for radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
