Panda Inn

Panda Inn is a chain of Chinese restaurants in the United States. It is known for its traditional Chinese dishes and is the original concept that led to the creation of the Panda Express chain. Panda Inn offers a more formal dining experience compared to its fast-casual counterpart.

History

Panda Inn was founded in 1973 by Andrew Cherng and his father, Master Chef Ming-Tsai Cherng, in Pasadena, California. The restaurant was established to provide authentic Chinese cuisine in a sit-down dining environment. The success of Panda Inn eventually led to the creation of Panda Express, which focuses on quick-service Chinese food.

Menu

The menu at Panda Inn features a variety of traditional Chinese dishes, including Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, and sweet and sour pork. The restaurant is also known for its dim sum offerings and a selection of seafood dishes. Panda Inn emphasizes the use of fresh ingredients and authentic cooking techniques.

Locations

Panda Inn has several locations throughout Southern California, including restaurants in Pasadena, Ontario, and La Palma. Each location is designed to provide a comfortable and elegant dining atmosphere, with decor that reflects traditional Chinese aesthetics.

Panda Restaurant Group

Panda Inn is part of the Panda Restaurant Group, which also owns and operates Panda Express and Hibachi-San. The group is one of the largest family-owned and operated Asian dining concepts in the United States.
