PG Tips is a brand of tea in the United Kingdom, manufactured by Unilever. It is one of the most popular tea brands in the UK and is known for its distinctive pyramid-shaped tea bags.

History

PG Tips was launched in the 1930s by Arthur Brooke, a tea dealer from Manchester. Originally called "Pre-Gest-Tee", the name was later shortened to PG Tips. The brand became famous for its advertising campaigns featuring anthropomorphic chimpanzees, known as the "Tipps family".
