Musakhan

Etymology[edit]
The term "Musakhan" is an Arabic word which literally translates to "something that is heated". It is named so because the dish is typically served hot.
Ingredients and Preparation[edit]
Musakhan is primarily made up of roasted chicken, onions, sumac, allspice, saffron, and fried pine nuts. The chicken is first roasted and then baked with the onions, sumac, allspice, and saffron. The dish is then topped with fried pine nuts. The entire dish is traditionally served atop one or more pieces of taboons, a type of flatbread that is common in Middle Eastern cuisine.
