List of Singaporean dishes is a compilation of the various types of food that are commonly consumed in Singapore. Singaporean cuisine is diverse and contains elements derived from several ethnic groups, as a result of its history as a seaport with a large immigrant population. Influences include the cuisines of the native Malay, the largest ethnic group, the Chinese, Indian, and Western traditions.

Malay Dishes[edit]

Nasi Lemak - A Malay fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. It is commonly found in Malaysia, where it is considered the national dish, and Singapore.

Mee Rebus - A noodle dish with yellow noodles served with a thick spicy potato-based gravy and garnished with a hard-boiled egg, spring onions, bean sprouts, fried shallots, tau kwa (dried/ fried tofu) and lime.

Satay - A dish of seasoned, skewered and grilled meat, served with a sauce. Satay may consist of diced or sliced chicken, goat, mutton, beef, pork, or fish.

Chinese Dishes[edit]

Hainanese Chicken Rice - A dish adapted from early Chinese immigrants originally from Hainan province in southern China. It is considered one of the national dishes of Singapore.

Char Kway Teow - A popular noodle dish in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. The dish is considered a national favourite in Malaysia and Singapore.

Bak Kut Teh - A pork rib dish cooked in broth popularly served in Malaysia and Singapore where there is a predominant Hoklo and Teochew community.

Indian Dishes[edit]

Roti Prata - A fried flatbread that is cooked over a flat grilling pan. It is usually served with a vegetable- or meat-based curry and is from the Indian subcontinent.

Biryani - A mixed rice dish with its origins among the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent. It is popular throughout the Indian subcontinent and among the diaspora from the region.

Fish Head Curry - A dish in Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine with Indian and Chinese origins. The head of a red snapper is semi-stewed in a Kerala-style curry with assorted vegetables such as okra and eggplants.

Western Dishes[edit]

Fish and Chips - A hot dish consisting of fried fish in batter served with chips. The dish originated in England and is an example of culinary fusion of its two main ingredients, each brought by immigrants.

Chicken Chop - A dish that is prepared with boneless chicken meat. This dish is popular in Singapore and Malaysia.

Spaghetti Bolognese - An Italian dish that is popular in Singapore. It consists of spaghetti, minced beef, garlic, wine and tomato sauce.
