- Bane: A physically imposing adversary, Bane is known for his immense strength and intelligence. He is infamous for breaking Batman's back during the "Knightfall" storyline.
- Scarecrow: Dr. Jonathan Crane, the Scarecrow, uses fear-inducing toxins to terrorize Gotham City. He is a former professor of psychology with a deep understanding of fear.
- Poison Ivy: Dr. Pamela Isley, or Poison Ivy, is an eco-terrorist with the ability to control plant life. She often uses toxins and pheromones to manipulate others.
- Ra's al Ghul: The leader of the League of Assassins, Ra's al Ghul is an immortal villain who seeks to cleanse the world through radical means. He often sees Batman as a worthy adversary and potential successor.

- Clayface: Several individuals have taken on the mantle of Clayface, a shape-shifting villain with the ability to mimic the appearance and abilities of others.
