The character was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm, and first appeared in Batman: The Animated Series in September 1992. Harley Quinn later appeared in DC Comics' The Batman Adventures #12 (September 1993).

Character Biography

Harley Quinn, whose real name is Dr. Harleen Quinzel, was originally a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum in Gotham City. She fell in love with the Joker during his sessions and eventually became his accomplice and lover.
