Jasmine (Medicine)

Jasmine (/ˈjæsmɪn/ JAZ-min) is a genus of shrubs and vines in the olive family (Oleaceae). It contains around 200 species native to tropical and warm temperate regions of Eurasia and Oceania. Jasmines are widely cultivated for their shining leaves and beautiful clusters of fragrant flowers.

Etymology

The name Jasmine is derived from the Persian word 'yasmin', which means "gift from God". It is so named because of the intense fragrance of the blooms.

Medical Uses

Jasmine has been used in traditional medicine for a variety of health conditions.
