Goguryeo

Goguryeo (고구려; 高句麗; 37 BCE–668 CE) was one of the Three Kingdoms of Korea, along with Baekje and Silla. It was located in the northern and central parts of the Korean Peninsula and the southern and central parts of Manchuria. Goguryeo was a powerful empire and played a significant role in the history of East Asia.

History

Goguryeo was founded in 37 BCE by Jumong, who became its first king. The kingdom rapidly expanded its territory and became a dominant power in the region. Goguryeo's capital was initially located at Jolbon, but it was later moved to Gungnae Fortress and then to Pyongyang.
