Cancers that can affect the eye include melanoma (a rare cancer that starts in cells that make the pigment melanin in the eye), carcinoma (cancer that starts in tissues that cover structures in the eye), lymphoma (cancer , which is in cells of the immune system) and retinoblastoma (cancer that starts in the retina and usually occurs in children under 5 years of age)
