Daiya
Daiya is a brand of plant-based food products that are free from dairy, gluten, and soy. The company was established in 2008 in Vancouver, Canada, and has since grown to become one of the leading providers of vegan and allergen-friendly food options worldwide.
History
Daiya was founded by Andre Kroecher and Greg Blake, who were motivated by a shared passion for plant-based living and a dream to create a healthier, more sustainable future. They launched their first product, a dairy-free cheese alternative, at the Natural Products Expo West in 2009. The product was met with immediate success, leading to the expansion of the company's product line to include other dairy-free alternatives.
Products
Daiya's product line includes a variety of dairy-free alternatives such as cheese, yogurt, pizza, and desserts. All Daiya products are made from a blend of natural ingredients including arrowroot and tapioca for texture, coconut oil for richness, and pea protein for nutrition.
Cheese
Daiya's cheese alternatives are available in shreds, slices, blocks, and cream cheese style spreads. They are designed to melt, stretch, and taste just like traditional dairy cheese.
Yogurt
Daiya's yogurt alternatives are made with coconut cream and real fruit. They are available in a variety of flavors including blueberry, peach, and strawberry.
Pizza
Daiya's pizzas are topped with their signature cheese alternative and a variety of other plant-based toppings. They are available in flavors such as margherita, mushroom and roasted garlic, and fire-roasted vegetable.
Desserts
Daiya's dessert line includes cheesecake and ice cream bar alternatives. They are made with a blend of coconut cream and other natural ingredients.
Health and Nutrition
Daiya's products are not only dairy-free, but also free from gluten, soy, and peanuts, making them suitable for people with various dietary restrictions. They are also a good source of calcium and vitamin B12, nutrients that are often lacking in plant-based diets.
