Clinical Ophthalmology (klin-i-kəl, äf-thəl-mä-lə-jē) is a peer-reviewed medical journal that focuses on the field of ophthalmology. The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, and clinical studies related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of eye diseases and visual disorders.

Etymology

The term "Clinical Ophthalmology" is derived from two Greek words. "Clinical" comes from the Greek word "klinikos", which means "bed", referring to the treatment of patients. "Ophthalmology" comes from the Greek words "ophthalmos" which means "eye" and "logia" which means "study of". Thus, Clinical Ophthalmology refers to the study and treatment of eye diseases.

Scope

The scope of Clinical Ophthalmology includes, but is not limited to, cornea and external disease, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, retina and vitreous, pediatric ophthalmology, ocular oncology, ophthalmic pathology, refractive surgery, and ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery.
