Carbon County, Utah is a county located in the eastern part of the state of Utah, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 20,412. The county seat and largest city is Price. The county was named for the extensive coal deposits found in the area.

History

Carbon County was established in 1894, carved out of Emery County. The discovery of coal in the region led to a boom in mining activities, which significantly influenced the county's development. The coal industry attracted a diverse workforce, including many immigrants from various countries, contributing to the county's cultural diversity.

Geography
