Burbank
Burbank is a city located in Los Angeles County, California, United States. It is situated in the southeastern end of the San Fernando Valley, approximately 12 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Burbank is known for being a major center of the entertainment industry, with numerous media and entertainment companies headquartered in the city.
History
Burbank was founded in 1887 and named after David Burbank, a dentist and entrepreneur who established a sheep ranch in the area in 1867. The city was incorporated on July 8, 1911. The arrival of the Southern Pacific Railroad in the late 19th century spurred growth and development in the region.
Geography
Burbank covers an area of approximately 17.4 square miles. The city is bordered by Glendale to the east, North Hollywood to the west, and the Verdugo Mountains to the north. The Los Angeles River runs through the city, providing a natural boundary.

Burbank is home to several major entertainment companies, including The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros. Entertainment, and Nickelodeon Animation Studio. The city's economy is heavily influenced by the entertainment industry, with numerous production studios, sound stages, and post-production facilities located within its borders.
