Black Sea
Black Sea
The Black Sea (pronunciation: /blæk si:/) is a body of water located between Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is bordered by six countries: Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
Etymology
The name "Black Sea" is believed to have been derived from the term "Inhospitable Sea" in ancient times, due to its difficult navigation and hostile tribes living on its coasts. Over time, this name was replaced by the "Hospitable Sea", before it eventually became known as the Black Sea.
