Biomedical Sciences (pronunciation: /ˌbaɪoʊˈmɛdɪkəl ˈsaɪənsɪz/) is a broad field of applied sciences that employs aspects of natural science or formal science, or both, to develop knowledge, interventions, or technology of use in healthcare or public health.

The term "Biomedical Sciences" is derived from the prefix "bio-", meaning "life", the root "medical", meaning "pertaining to the science or practice of medicine", and the suffix "-sciences", meaning "systematic knowledge of a particular subject".
