The American Statistical Association (ASA) is a professional association for statisticians and individuals interested in the field of statistics. History
The ASA was founded on November 27, 1839, in Boston, Massachusetts, by a group of prominent statisticians and scholars, including Richard Fletcher, John Gorham Palfrey, and William Cogswell. The association was established to improve the use of statistics in public policy and to promote statistical science.
Mission and Goals
The mission of the ASA is to promote the practice and profession of statistics. The association aims to:
