6'-Guanidinonaltrindole (6'-GNTI) is a chemical compound that acts as a selective kappa-opioid receptor agonist. It is structurally related to naltrindole, a delta-opioid receptor antagonist, but has been modified to selectively target the kappa-opioid receptor.

Pharmacology

6'-Guanidinonaltrindole exhibits high affinity and selectivity for the kappa-opioid receptor over other opioid receptors, such as the mu-opioid receptor and delta-opioid receptor. This selectivity makes it a valuable tool in the study of kappa-opioid receptor functions and the development of new therapeutic agents targeting this receptor.

Research Applications

Due to its selectivity, 6'-Guanidinonaltrindole is used in pharmacological research to investigate the role of kappa-opioid receptors in various physiological and pathological processes. It has been studied in the context of pain management, addiction, and mood disorders.
