2C-YN is a lesser-known psychedelic phenethylamine of the 2C family. It was first synthesized by the chemist Alexander Shulgin and described in his book PiHKAL (Phenethylamines I Have Known And Loved).

Chemical Structure

2C-YN, or 2,5-dimethoxy-4-(2-propynyl)phenethylamine, has the chemical formula C12H15NO2. It is structurally related to other compounds in the 2C series, such as 2C-B, 2C-I, and 2C-E. The defining feature of 2C-YN is the presence of a propynyl group at the 4-position of the phenyl ring.
