List of drugs: Ti

This is a list of drugs that start with the letter "Ti". These drugs are used for various medical conditions and are categorized based on their therapeutic use, chemical structure, and other factors.

Ticarcillin[edit]

Ticarcillin is a beta-lactam antibiotic that belongs to the penicillin class of antibiotics. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, particularly those caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Ticarcillin is often combined with clavulanic acid to enhance its effectiveness against beta-lactamase-producing bacteria.

Ticlopidine[edit]

Ticlopidine is an antiplatelet drug that inhibits ADP-induced platelet aggregation. It is used to reduce the risk of stroke and other thrombotic events in patients with a history of transient ischemic attacks or strokes. Ticlopidine is often replaced by newer antiplatelet agents like clopidogrel due to its side effect profile.

Tiotropium[edit]

Tiotropium is a long-acting bronchodilator used in the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by blocking the action of acetylcholine on muscarinic receptors in the airways, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow.

Tizanidine[edit]

Tizanidine is a muscle relaxant that acts as an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist. It is used to treat muscle spasticity associated with conditions such as multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injury. Tizanidine helps reduce muscle tone and improve mobility.

Ticarcillin/Clavulanate[edit]

Ticarcillin/Clavulanate is a combination antibiotic that includes ticarcillin and clavulanic acid. This combination is effective against a broader range of bacteria, including those that produce beta-lactamase enzymes, which can inactivate ticarcillin alone.

Tildrakizumab[edit]

Tildrakizumab is a monoclonal antibody used in the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. It targets the interleukin-23 (IL-23) cytokine, which plays a key role in the inflammatory process of psoriasis.

Timolol[edit]

Timolol is a beta-blocker used in the treatment of hypertension, angina, and glaucoma. In ophthalmic form, it reduces intraocular pressure by decreasing the production of aqueous humor in the eye.

Tinidazole[edit]

Tinidazole is an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent used to treat infections caused by protozoa and certain types of bacteria. It is commonly used for conditions such as trichomoniasis, giardiasis, and amebiasis.

Tiagabine[edit]

Tiagabine is an anticonvulsant medication used in the treatment of epilepsy. It works by inhibiting the reuptake of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), thereby increasing its availability in the brain and helping to control seizures.
