Siniša Varga is a Croatian dentist and politician who served as the Minister of Health in the Government of Croatia from 2014 to 2016. He is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP).

Early Life and Education[edit]

Siniša Varga was born on August 24, 1965, in Zagreb, Socialist Republic of Croatia, then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He completed his primary and secondary education in Zagreb. Varga graduated from the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Zagreb in 1990.

Dentistry[edit]

After completing his education, Varga worked as a dentist in various healthcare institutions. He specialized in oral surgery and dental implantology. Varga also held several administrative positions in the healthcare sector, contributing to the development of dental healthcare services in Croatia.

Political Career[edit]

Varga joined the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP) and became actively involved in politics. He was appointed as the Director of the Croatian Health Insurance Fund (HZZO) in 2012, where he implemented several reforms aimed at improving the efficiency and sustainability of the Croatian healthcare system.

In 2014, Varga was appointed as the Minister of Health in the Government of Croatia led by Prime Minister Zoran Milanović. During his tenure, he focused on healthcare reforms, including the modernization of healthcare infrastructure, the introduction of new technologies, and the improvement of patient care services.

Personal Life[edit]

Siniša Varga is married and has two children. He is fluent in several languages, including Croatian, English, and German.
