Wasabi (restaurant)

Wasabi is a renowned Japanese cuisine restaurant chain that originated in the United Kingdom. It is known for its authentic sushi and bento boxes, which are prepared fresh daily.

History

Wasabi was founded in 2003 by Dong Hyun Kim, a South Korean entrepreneur who moved to London with the dream of introducing fresh, healthy, and affordable sushi to the city. The first Wasabi restaurant was opened in Embankment, London. Since then, the chain has expanded to over 50 locations across the UK, including in Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, and Manchester.

Menu

The menu at Wasabi includes a variety of sushi options, such as Nigiri, Maki, and Sashimi, as well as hot food options like Ramen, Udon, and Katsu Curry. They also offer a range of bento boxes, which are traditional Japanese meals served in a box, typically with a portion of rice, fish or meat, and pickled or cooked vegetables.

Sustainability

Wasabi is committed to sustainability and sources its fish from sustainable fisheries. They also use biodegradable packaging for their food and have implemented a recycling program in all their restaurants.

Expansion

In 2015, Wasabi expanded to the United States, opening its first location in New York City. They have since opened additional locations in Boston and Miami.
