History

Pollo Campero was founded by the Gutierrez family in 1971. The first restaurant was opened in Guatemala City, and quickly gained popularity due to its unique recipe for fried chicken. The success of the first restaurant led to the opening of additional locations throughout Guatemala and eventually, international expansion.

International Expansion

Pollo Campero began its international expansion in the 2000s. The first international location was opened in El Salvador in 2002.
