Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) is the research arm of The Ottawa Hospital and an affiliated institute of the University of Ottawa. It is one of the largest hospital-based research institutes in Canada, with a focus on understanding and developing innovative approaches to health care.

History

The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute was established in 2001, following the merger of three separate research facilities. The institute's roots can be traced back to the 1950s, when the first research laboratories were established at the Ottawa Civic Hospital.

Research

The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute conducts research in a wide range of areas, including cancer, heart disease, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, infectious disease, and epidemiology.
